Spotted eagle rays live in tropical and warm waters and are easily recognized by their dark backs, white spots, wing-like fins, and long tails. Their name comes from their rounded, pointed snouts, which resemble a bird’s beak. They use these snouts to search through sand and mud for buried prey, then use flat plates of teeth to crush clams, snails, and crustaceans. Spotted eagle rays are also known to leap completely out of the water, possibly to escape predators or remove parasites.
We donate 10% of every sea animal bracelet sale to organizations working to protect our oceans and the wildlife that calls them home.
